Women and Midwifery Care

The midwives are mainly acting to support the women in childbirth. They provide care to women during pregnancy and childbirth and some also provide primary care related to reproductive health. This physiological care includes the gynaecological/Pregnancy examination, contraceptive counselling to control emotions, promotion of normal/natural birth, accessing medical care, detection of complication in mother and child and delivery care. Midwives and women healthcare providers have vast knowledge in reproductive education in nutrition, fertility, contraception, breastfeeding, pregnancy health, and quality infant care. They also have important roles in education and health counselling not only for the women but also for the family and community. Apart from this a women healthcare nurse provides specific care in the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, menopause and many other problems facing by women.
